It’s A Little Chilly!

Volunteers are finding getting up out of bed a hard challenge in the morning as Nepal is still very chilly.  Sleeping bags and thermals are a must during the night and early morning but you will soon warm up in the sunshine during the day with temperatures around 16C.  Nepal has been battling with a harsh winter and many Nepali’s have been underprepared for such a climate. In the west of Nepal, the elderly and children have struggled to stay warm huddling in caves with very little clothes or food. Even in the capital you will see many shop owners sitting around fires to stay warm during the early evening.  Luxuries such as heating, double glazing, 24 hour electricity and hot water just do not exists here – so be prepare for simple living. It make everything more exciting!
